First Month at University!

It's coming up to the end of my first month at university so I thought I would give you a quick rundown of how it has gone.

The past month has been a little different for me than many, as I actually haven't moved out. Instead I decided to commute to university which has its positives and negatives.

One huge postiives is food. I hear quite frequent around university about the topic of food with many not knowing what to eat or simply not having any food to eat but with me living at home I never have that problem which is quite comforting.

One downside however, is I feel like I have become more independent but not entirely independent in the fact that I do more on my own now but not everything. I am hopefully going to be moving into a house with a few of my friends in second year which should be pretty cool.

For those of you who don't know, I am at Birmingham City University studying a media and communication degree with my specialism being journalism.

So far I have really enjoyed it, I have got involved with Scratch Media, which has given me media related experience. I will put links to at the bottom of the post but I am really enjoying just getting stuck in with all things media.

I have my own radio show on Thursday's from 10-12am (BST) which I co-host with my friend Beth. We have a laugh and talk about topics which I think you guys may find interesting, so if you're free and want to take a listen that would be amazing.

University as a whole for me has been the right thing to do, meeting like minded people that are creative and so talented. If you're considering going to university yourself I would definitely  recommend you sign up for some open days and just take a look around.

Please don't think just because you're not going to university this year you can't look because it will come round so quick and it may even change your mind as to what you actually want to study. With the cost of university the way it is, it is important to be organised.

Overall university for me has been amazing so far and I have really enjoyed it. This has been one reason I havent been posting on here as much as I have been a little busy, but I will be posting reguarly once again.

Thanks,

Tom
